This project began as an experiment in updating the early 1970s concept of time-lag accumulation (Riley, Eno, Fripp), orchestrating with elaborate delay networks by taking advantage of advances in delay-based effects in the 50 years since.

Each entry is a single track of electric guitar (e-bowed guitar on Three Steps) fed into varying configurations of cascading delays, where each delay stage is only fed by the output of a previous stage (the track titles reflect the number of delay stages used).

Many types of delay effects were included—modulated delays, analog delays, grain delays, pitch delays, looping delays, diffuse delays, &c.—along with some extra processing here and there.
